Q. When I attempt to make a call using PAP2 device, I get dead air.
- Make sure your device is pingable. Also, if you have tried to change the configuration on your device recently, use the Configuration Guide provided by
- Net2Phone to change to the working configuration. You can also reset the device to
factory defaults and then reconfigure the device using the Configuration Guide
provided by Net2Phone.
Q. When I attempt to make a call using PAP2, I hear fast busy?
A. Try the following:
i. Verify that a valid account is configured. Go to Line 1 or 2 and verify that a User
ID and Password is set.
ii. Also verify that account in use is not expired or out of funds.
Q. Can I upgrade/downgrade the device?
A. The PAP2 firmware is not available on the Linksys Web site for downloading. Thus,
there is no procedure to upgrade/downgrade the device.
Q. I am experiencing one-way audio on all calls?
A. Verify that the firewall is not blocking packets. Also, if you have tried to change the
configuration on your device recently, use the Configuration Guide provided by
Net2Phone to change to the working configuration.
Q. How do I configure the dial plan?
A. Go to Line 1 or 2, and in the Dial Plan section, insert the dial plan configuration
separated by “|” (located above the Enter key). Net2Phone expects the dialed
number in the following format. US numbers must start with 1, and non-US numbers
must start with 011.

or contact the Linksys support team.
Q. How do I reset my device to the factory defaults?
A. Connect the analog phone to the RJ-45 connector on the PAP2. On the telephone
keypad, enter star key (*) four (4) times: ****. When you hear an IVR, enter the
sequence 73738# and then 1# to confirm the change.
Q. How do I configure my device to only use a low bandwidth codec?
A. Go to Line 1 or 2, and in the Audio Configuration section, set following values:
